Edison, Otakar Kraus Music Trust
With support from the Otakar Kraus Music Trust we run three 20 mins music therapy groups a week with Edison R Carolino, our hugely popular and experienced therapist.
You can bring your children any Tuesday to drop-in to our two music groups: for the little ones at 4pm and the older children (aged 6 and above) at 4.20pm on Tuesdays.
You can express an interest in joining these groups through our website, but this is not a booking. Places are assigned on arrival at the sessions on Tuesdays. Please note that there is a limited number of places (6) in each of these groups and they can get quite busy, so please arrive in good time if possible and let the front desk volunteers know when you arrive that you would like your child/ren to join a music therapy group.
Edison qualified as a Music Therapist at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama completing a Department of Health approved Diploma in Music Therapy ( SRAsT(M) and also is registered with the HCPC ( Health and Care Professions Council). Edison works for the Otakar Kraus Music Trust with children and adults with a wide range of conditions. He has many years of experience as a music therapist and teacher and is the Music Director at the Otakar Kraus Music Trust. He has developed the IRP technique, a unique teaching method which has achieved great success in schools in England, India and Brazil.
If your child/ren enjoy our drop-in music therapy groups, you can sign up for our closed music therapy group, which is from 4.40 - 5.00pm every Tuesday. This is for the same children for half a term, so that they have the opportunity to develop and to follow a structured programme. This group is for half a term and alternates between the smaller children (up to 6) one half term and then the older children (6 and above) the next half term. We appreciate it if families do their best to attend every session of the half term they have booked.
This is a drop-in event. You may express an interest here but you need to sign up on arrival at the session in order to take part.
